Link between Sex and Gambling

Extensive research has proven that gambling and sex may cause the same parts of the brain to react. A number of men who have been shown sexy pictures are more likely to gamble daringly than those shown with scary pictures. The part of the brain that is triggered is the nucleus accumbens, which is located near the brains' base and plays a vital role in achieving pleasure. This means that the same area of the brain is triggered by both practices. As a matter of fact, research show that sexual hyperactivity is often accompanied with other addictive behaviours. It has been observed that most often than not, a gambler's lifestyle includes hypersexuality, wherein both compulsions feed the person's self-esteem.

If this is so, gambling in traditional casinos or any other similar facility, one should take extra care in protecting oneself from misfortunes that may result from such frenzy. Since it is highly likely to meet other people whom you may have sexual tension with, it is but imperative to bring protection like condoms, pills and other personal hygiene to clean up oneself after the act. One cannot let something as random as that damage one's health and reputation in the long run.

It is always best to be prepared and take preventive measures than be sorry in the end. That is why it is important to be informed of all the necessary things that one can do to protect one's sexual health without really having to stop doing what you love to do, which is gambling. However, just like everything else, it should only be in moderation.
